Why We Do It

I was 21 years old when I met what would become a best friend. He was 20. We both worked at a bank and enjoyed our coffee breaks together. He was a student at Cal Poly Pomona in his Junior year, and we became great friends. He taught me how to use a personal computer- an Apple Macintosh. Unfortunately, he took his own life a week after his 21st birthday. He was torn between his parents pushing him into a college major he didn’t want to do and pursuing a career he wanted. Fast forward 28 years, and after working with college students and hiring them for my marketing company, I found I was mentoring my college employees. This is how and why I started CWM.

Of course, I did some research. I set up a booth at a few college campuses and asked students if they thought having a mentor was a good idea. The response was overwhelming. Over 500 college students signed up for more information. There was a need, and it’s become a mission to make CWM work.

I make sure all CWM employees, mentors, and coaches have their own stories and want to give back and help students avoid unexpected glitches.

This is my WHY, and we are all in.
